President's Welcome

President Jolene Koester

Welcome to the California State University, Northridge website.

During the 2008-09 academic year, the university celebrates its 50th anniversary and “50 years of life-changing opportunity.” While the university has undergone tremendous growth and transformation during its first half-century of service, the one constant throughout its history is a distinguished record of accomplishment as a regionally focused, nationally recognized institution of higher learning, and a tradition of commitment to student success and excellence.

The university website provides a window into the wide breadth of academic programs available to students and our extensive work in the community. If you are a prospective student, you will find useful information about our many outstanding academic programs, and the available activities and opportunities that will enrich your studies here. (And, of course, you can apply online once you have decided to join our campus community!) Continuing students will find resources that are important to their coursework and their goal of reaching graduation. Faculty and staff will find resources they need to do their work effectively. And all visitors will find a steady stream of interesting information about the many programs, achievements and initiatives that make Cal State Northridge a leader among higher education institutions.

Whatever your reasons for coming to our website, I hope you find your visit both productive and personally enriching.
